As I walk

I walk out my bedroom door
and say hello to staff..
she looks so harried and stresses
and its only eight o' clock
i ask what happened
she says in the hour she had been working
there has already been a fight and there is still so much to do
i tell her to keep her chin up and smile
although i cannot

I go to the common room and look and see
the women sitting there
with nowhere to go and nothing to do
a lady in a wheel chair who has been kick out of her home
i say smile your not alone
although i do not smile and i am alone

My roommate is only 19 and it makes you wonder
why is she homeless
does nobody love her
she say her father is a jerk
and cannot accept her differences
she is a lesbian through and through
she says nobody loves her
I say i wont be your girlfriend but i love you honey
people who cannot accept change will be left behind in this world
people in her love you more than you know
but nobody loves me.
